sorry for the loss, but take it from me, never park in a manner that draws attention to your vette....certainly do not take up 2 spaces, especially in this economy; there are folks out there that hate the fact that you have something nice while they just lost their house, or job, or car. when I go to HD or Lowes I park as close as I can to the gardening dept on the side of the area where the plants are displayed outdoors...there usually is a safe no-door nick spot there, and there are always shoppers in and out which helps prevent crime...best of luck with your next top.
That sucks man, but I would try to park your car within view of cameras and not take up two spots....not saying that's what caused it but every little helps. You don't want that kind of attention.
That really does sux!!!
I would suggest that you keep an eye on your local Craigslist website – the person who took it may try to sell it on that site.
Parked diagonally? Geez, here in San Diego there isn't enough room to do that with all the illegals in the parking lot looking to being picked up for a day job.
Just a few weeks ago some one attempted to break into my GTP. Stuck a screw driver through both locks and then pried on the Handle between the Door skin. $1950.00 worth of damage to the Vehicle. Come to find out this is the preferred method to break into cars now. About 1 in 10 cars that I have looked at recently in STL have similar damage.
Lucky for me I didn't catch them, because if I had I would be going to Jail and they would be headed to the Morgue or Hospital.
If you're up in the Villages, it was probably some 70 year old whacked out on drugs gettin' all whack on yo car. Seniors... can't trust 'em anymore!
It was more likely someone of a younger age....we seniors don't run too fast and wish not to be beaten by an enraged car owner. Check at the McDonalds in Leesburg, someone there may know something.
