I started slowing down when my first daughter was born. I was 27 at the time, now I'm 42

I just moved from Michigan to the Cincinnati, Ohio area and everyone drives under the speed limit here and it is driving me nuts. So I have not slowed down.

Im 10 years behinds you and agree 100%....I never speed in town...but give me an open stretch of hiway with no traffic and I'll be all over it....Even got a ticket last week to prove it...(78/60)...I wasnt even in my Vette...was in my 4x4....Probably a good thing...had I been in one of the Vettes Id have probably been doing "substantially" more

If you don't drive the speed limit you shouldn't be driving on public roads.

Almost exactly the same for me. I am 40 now and think I started slowing down with our first child 17 years ago.
I also make a fairly decent living now and couldn't do my job without my license.

Only if I get a hit on my radar detector! I actually started slowing down after gas hit $4. I usually do my spirited driving on open highways with no traffic and a looooong staight away we enjoy here in the open desert. Just have to watchout for aircraft.

I never drove my car that fast, at most 10 over. Getting on the freeway seems to be the most fun for me. Recently I had a motorcycle car encounter. I broke a collarbone and needed surgery I slowed down quite a bit after that.

I always thought 20 over was the speed limit for motorcycles. 85 was the speed that felt most comfortable on the freeway and usually just 20 over around town. Since my crash 4 months ago I stick to the speed limit or less. It took about 45 years to arrive at this point.

Just drive safe, there are times and places where you can open her up just have to use your head. I usually keep her about 10 mph over the limit. When I really need the urge to speed I take it to the drag strip or the track. That always take care of it

WTF?

No, I'm one of the MFR's that want to run stupid a$$ drivers off the road. My finger and horn are getting worn out so please stay at home instead of driving 7 under, probably in the left lane, or on a clogged up two lane road.

Hmmm, I must have misread your post..It sounded to me like you were saying you never speed....and I dont know how ANYONE can own a Corvette and NEVER speed from time to time....

As far as the lolly-gaggers in the left lane...Im with you 100% on that one....Wish I could convert my fog lights into James Bond machine guns and blow their tires out (The previous statement was said in JEST!)

Fortunately, Colorado now has a "Keep right except to pass" law

Yeah, and it's about as effective as a J walking law.

I hate driving I-25, some days its like a speedway and other days its like driving Miss Daisy!

I spent 3 years stationed in Germany in the army. The germans could teach Colorodians a thing or two about the left lane.

The right lane seems to be the new passing lane here in America. fools...
But I NEVER go over the speed limit!!!

Unless, of course...ahem...on an approved track......

When I got a car with a freeking HUD !

Not that I speed around a lot. I do find that I drove a lot faster prior to say 40 y/o, but the subsequent age (that means Im no longer in a hurry all the time) related reduction that occurred at 40ish pales in comparison to the effect of having the damn HUD.

I just find my self driving at exactly the limit now. I mean before, I would drive at "whatever ?", not racing around, but not much attention to speed, whatever seemed right. Now the speed is posted right there on the windshield, you cant help but see it. So if you are not in a hurry, why go over?

Before I get the "why dont you get a minivan ?" ribbing I do need to say that I still like to carve up and down a nice mountain road at "whatever seems right" and I find that in that scenario the whatever probably exceeds the posted limit.

135 <== that number is just a random number, has nothing to do with operating a vehicle.

Its as simple as this....you know speeding tickets are expensive and you also know that "driving it like you stole it" is "high school". I'd rather drive it safely and be seen by others who envy rather than blowing by everyone before they say "look at that as!@#$%" and the way he's driving. I'm 32 and I'm the same way.

If I'm in the Buick or GMC, I drive like a elderly pastor. If I'm in the Z06, Formula, or on the CBR...all bets are off.
