Hell from Germany
Hi all,
my name is Oliver, I am 28 years old, living in Sindelfingen/Stuttgart, Germany.
6 weeks ago I went to the states, Union / New Jersey to buy my dream
A black 2004 Z06!! 
The lady arrived 2 weeks ago in Germany and last week on Tuesday I had the chance to pick it up in the north of Germany, at the Port of Bremerhaven. After the first technical inspection and lowering on stock bolts
at our “German Corvette Specialist” we drove the first 1000 km home to Stuttgart which is in the south of Germany.
It is really great fun to drive the car on the German Autobahn, the car itself is awesome and I am very very happy that my dream, owning this hot vette now came true.
Hopefully the guys at the Porsche manufacturing, which is 10 miles away, will not be to jealous on this hot lady
Attached you will find some pics shot at the pick up day in Bremerhaven and after first wash and 3 layers of polish and wax last Sunday.

Were you in the driver's seat in those photos or do you need to post some more photos of a significant other??
There is a trim piece that I believe came with the Z06 that trims out the front license plate a little. It's black and "U" shaped.
Are there any modifications done to the car other than your lowering of it? Remember to get an alignment in a couple weeks after the car settles to the new height.

Here you go:Pic was shot at the "Corvette Driving Days" which is a marketing campaign by Corvette Europe. We had the opportunity to testdrive the new C6 Corvettes as Coupe, Convertible and the C6 Z06:
The licence cover you mentioned was not with the car but I will buy me one to fit the front licence correctly on it, which will look nicer I think.
The alignement will be done next week.
There are no other mods, only the trunk divider.. which is not really a mod. Actually no modifications are planned, maybe I will keep it original or sometime in the future I will have the whole modification process: Headers, exhaust, 19/20" inch wheels, air intake... First I have to drive, drive, drive and to have a lot of fun with it!

Yes it does get a lot of attention, first because of the rare look... The only sport cars in the Stuttgart area are Porsches, because the manufacturing is here, second because of the nice V8 Sound, which is also very rare here, the most people drive 4/6 Cylinder Turbodiesel machines which have a total different (
) Sound.And of course because it is such a beauty

Insurace: It depends on how many years you drove without an accident. As I never had an accident, my insurance is cheap, the Vette is about 500 EUR a year. For example, a BMW 325i is about 800 EUR a year...
Regarding the import of foreign cars, we have to pay duty and tax. Duty is 10% of the price I paid in the US and another 19% tax.
After that there is a technical inspection which has to be done, this is about 800 EUR / imported car. This technical inspection has to be done every two years, but then it only costs about 75 EUR.
With all this paperwork (tax,duty,insurance,technical inspection, original us title...) you can register the car and get the licence tables

The import of the vette is cheaper... The prices for Porsches (new or user) here are very very high. On the other hand, the prices for cars in the states are very low. Especially german cars are very cheap in the US, abput 25 - 40 % lower than for the same new car in Germany...but the Germans pay this high prices...

I've driven the "bahn" many times,usually on business and usually in a BMW of some sort.
I'll bet you got some odd looks in the Vette!! Any feeling of front-end lift at high speeds with the lights on? That's what I don't like about the pop-up lights.

A guy I know from Russia is looking into importing a 911 from US into Russia, as it is cheaper than getting one in Germany. In Russia they also have displacement tax. According to him it would cost $15K+ to import a 5.7L vette.

The import of the vette is cheaper... The prices for Porsches (new or user) here are very very high. On the other hand, the prices for cars in the states are very low. Especially german cars are very cheap in the US, abput 25 - 40 % lower than for the same new car in Germany...but the Germans pay this high prices...
