Have you made a speed run on the Autobahn yet? If so tell us about it.

Thanks, and congrats on your Z. Your other woman looks like a keeper too!
Why should somebody from foreing countries do not like american people or anything else made in america? Because of the history? quality? actual president?

I'll bet you got some odd looks in the Vette!! Any feeling of front-end lift at high speeds with the lights on? That's what I don't like about the pop-up lights.

My daily driver is a BMW because I am a lot on the bahn driving to my customers...

But as I own the Z now for a week and the weather here is bad, I did not have the chance to test it on the Autobahn very much. I just accelareted to 220 km/h, not more... Just wantet to know how fast she goes up to 200 ;-) ....Well, too fast!

Zu teuer... Too expensive: It is about 1,35 EUR / liter, which is 1,75 USD per liter.... this is about 6.60 USD / Gallon...

That´s why a Corvette or any other similar car cannot be driven as a daily driver in Germany....

Congrats and welcome.
Are you going to drive the Z06 to the F1 race next year?
I miss F1 here in North America.
Good luck and enjoy your new car.

Because, most do not like us, or our products from what I have seen. We work with Bayer (Leverkuesen), and have partner companies in both Mannheim and Koln, so I am in and out of there all the time. While I dont see outright hostility in Germany....I do see it in France. Italy seems to tolerate us, but its not exactly 'warm' either. The company in Koln we've most recently bought an interest in absolutely fears being owned or run by an American company. I think it has to do with the difference in cultures, the hours we work, what bureaucratic red tape BS we deal with that Europeans think is ludicrous (it is), taking the month of September off for holiday, etc..

Enjoy the vette!! Last time I was at the 'ring for the 24 hrs (I know Timo Bernhard), the C6Zs were representing (off the track that is)...two blasted by us on the 'bahn at 180 (MPH) +...

You have to do the Nurburgring with that fantastic Z06!

Wish I had one when i did it!

The main reason people do not like the USA is because our news reporters Suck! All we do is report how crappy things are and all the crimes we commit. The we have the most violent movies exported all over the world and people think we all live like that!

The intelligent Europeans that have visited the USA. Love Us!

And they keep coming back!

Congrats on the Z06!

Willkoemman Oliver & Michaela!

It must be fantastic to drive the Z06 on the Autobahn, or anywhere else in Germany for that matter- such a lovely country. A Vette would really stand out there!

Will you be taking the Z06 to the Nurburgring? I was there in July for a club track day and drove a race-prepped BMW330i- what a fantastic day, and I did see a couple of Z06s as they blew past!

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the warm welcome!

I want to have some performance trainigns with the car, maybe on Hockenheimring or Nurburgring.. we will see

As soon as the weather will be better, I will do a lot of drinving on the german Autobahn to see what´s going on with the Z

Is it possible to find out who owned this car before me in the states? I bought it at a GM dealer but they did not help me on this question.

Would the VIN help on this?

Thanks guys,

greetings
Oliver

Hey there
Another Z06 in Germany and just about 50mls away. Funny thing is we both imported a Z06 the same day so +2 here in Germany. Hey Oliver cool to see u here. Its me Thomas from Karlsruhe. (we know each other a bit from german vette community www.corvetteforum.de)

Heres my thread im from Germany either, living in Karlsruhe (100mls south of Frankfurt):

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2169192

mine:
harbour, waiting for first start

at home, with time-limited license plate (u can drive some days with that) so dont wonder about the mounting of the plate

Done:
Borla Stingers ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCOL25W2G5k )
C6Z ****
shorty antenna
dropped her yesterday, no bolts front and longer ones in rear... but still too high for me, gonna save some money to get coilovers. Gonna post some pics soon though.

More mods to come for example im saving for SP500s...

By the way: Dont think most ppl here in Germany dislike the US. Most of the ppl i know LOVED their trip to USA. Personally, i would like to live in Florida if i could. Mostly because of the damn nice weather over there and ****ty winter here in Germany... but i like the whole american way of life (been to US 2 times already, 5 weeks overall, gonna do my next trip in spring 09) and the damn hot cars u got in US, all the V8s an so on... here in Germany most cars suck because they got the wrong engines like 4 cylinder etc., like Oliver already mentioned. But just those damn wide streets etc give u a feeling of "freedom" thats cool.

Hey guys,
I've been over there 3 times tuning Corvettes. I'll be back over the beginning of 09. I have customers in Karlsruhe. That's most likely were I'll be staying.
If you guys need any tuning, let me know.
