Default What to do after long storage???

Here is the thing... my boss has a few bucks and too many cars. He offered to sell me his 2003 convertible that only has 8,000 miles. So we haggled a bit and settled on a price of $20K as he just wants it gone. It has been in a controlled storage environment for 18 months and best I can tell was not properly stored. My thought was to tow to the shop and flush the fuel system, get a new battery and check the tires. Anything else I should take a look at?

By the way, this seems to be a fairly unique version as it is white on red with a white top (never heard of a whit top). He also said it was a 50th anniversary version with the stitching in the seat. I thought only the maroon and champange interior were 50th Anniversary package? If it is white with red and 50th is it worth more than all the look alike versions?

Thanks!

All 2003 cars are 50th anniversary cars. Only the " maroon and champange" cars are actual 50th Anniversary editions.

As to whether or not the color combination makes it worth more depends on what the buyer wants.

I would say you got a very good price.

Just put StaBil or Seafoam in the tank, charge the battery and start it up. That will get you a base line of where to go.

Quite a deal!!!!
Run it, check everything, and see what happens.
If you don't want it, let me know.

Thanks for the feedback. Price is too good to be true and I just can't pass it up. Since I am in MN and the car is in FL I won't get to see it for a few weeks. I just never saw the white top on a white convert let alone the red interior. If anyone has that combo can you post a pic??

Thanks again!!

That is one heck of a deal for the car. Wouldn't mind running into a deal like that myself.

My opinion? It's toast, gummed up, worthless, dry-rotted, in need of a lot of $$$ to bring 'er back, and is nothing more than a static museum piece at this point. But being the good hearted CF'er that I am, I'll bail you out of this money pit of a C5 and give you your $20K. Do you take PayPal?

Car sounds VERY nice. I wish for you all the best of good times to you and your new car.

Im in FSJ as we speak, and as of now its good. Roads are dry and clean. But that can change in a blink of an eye. It's been pretty mild as of late.

Todd -

Thanks for the pics, it helps put things in perspective and by the way, nice car!!

I am thinking I am going to like this one as my current red/black vert. I guess I only need one more and that would be blue. Think I will save that for an '06 Z06!!

Is that the color combo? Very Nice!

Pick it up for $20K, bring it up north, and I'll give you $21K for it!
A quick easy grand profit.

Well, I finally got this all straightened out. The car was actually a 2002 Convertible but it did only have 8,100 miles on it. It had been stored for the past three years but not covered. At first glance I wanted to walk away, after a few hours of elbow grease this is one beautiful car. Click on the "My Corvette Photos" to the left of this message to check it out.

Didn't see any pics, but 18 has to be a good deal.
I assume new battery. Change all the fluids, burn up that gas, maybe some techron, enjoy.
