Default HVAC Controller Light Question

Hello & thank you for any assistance you may offer. I've purchased my first C5 - ZO6 and noticed at night that the recirculation and fresh air buttons on the HVAC controller do not have a back light. The yellow funtion light for each button does display when depressed. I'm assuming that the microbulbs are not functioning in the controller for these buttons, but want to make sure this is the case before I remove to replace. Am I correct?

Thank you,

Yes, the bulbs behind the buttons have burned out. It would be best to replace all of the bulbs at the same time. It has been noted for the dual zone HVAC that once one goes out the rest are soon to follow. I do not know if that follows for the single zone HVAC.

A suitable replacement can be found at Radio Shack. I do not know the part number off hand but it is a 12v 70ma lamp.

By the way, If you do not have experience working on electronic circuits I would not attempt the repair yourself. There is a supporting vendor that can do the work, I forget who it is though.

Default Thank you

Thanks, that's what I figured. Radio Shack# appears to be 272-1092.

Or you could do like a bunch of us are and replace them all with LEDs....

the look is much nicer, most think, and the conversion isn't difficult. Heck, if I (a woman with no electrical skills!) can do it, anyone can!
