I have the same problem, only my '03 electrochromatic left-hand mirror is about 90% "frosted". It's gotten steadily worse over the past few months. I don't know what caused it, but I'm trying to find out how to replace it. Does anyone know how to remove and replace the mirror? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the quick response. I definitely don't want to go with the stick-on approach. Do you know if the mirror housing has to be taken off the door? If not, how can the mirror itself be removed?
Push in on one edge of the mirror glass tilting the mmirror case to allow finger access
Grasp the glass case firmly and pull the case from the mirror body
Disconnect the wire connectors from the case (heated mirror)
Remove the two jackscrews from the mirror glass case
Bend the jackscrew over
Press down on the side of the jackscrew popping the jackscrew from the mirror glass case
Save the jackscrews for reinstallation to the mirror motor.
The installation is a bit more complicated but if you decide to go that way I can send the instructions from the manual.
