Does anyone know the procedure for removing the black plastic panel that surrounds the trunk release button on the dash next to the steering column, and the black plastic plate that surrounds the gauges.
I'd like to remove them and have a shop paint them torch red, the center console is already removed and under way with this custom paint work.
Member's thought's and advice are alway's appreciated.
There are two screws at the bottom of the panel. It looks like once the screws are removed the panel pulls toward the firewall and down. It is possible the top part has some clips. If that's the case, pull out gently. If you can't get it out after you remove the screws, let me know and I'll remove mine and let you know how to do it.

I removed the 2 screws(that face the floor) located at the bottom of the red leather panel which is just below the steering column and the panel seemed to pull out ok but not able to come off it was hung up again near the trunk lid release button.
I tugged a little but did not want to force it w/fear of breaking that housing that surrounds this trunk button.
This is the piece I need to get off any other screws I missed I did'nt see any? any suggestions?
Pop out the trunk release button bezel and behind that is a screw (T15 I think) and next to the ignition switch pop out the small plastic vent and behind it you will also see a screw. Notice that the part next to the ignition switch is trapped behind the console/radio bezel You may need to loosen the center bezel a little if you can't get the panel off. To loosen it back out the torx screw next to the cigarette lighter and the one behind your ashtray after that pop out the small panel infront of your center armrest that has your traction control button, under that you will see two 10mm nuts. Pull them and the center bezel will be loose enough to pull out the lower dash panel.
Make note that there is a sensor attatched to the lower dash panel that you will have to disconnect.
