7-eleven uses gas as a loss leader. They are not out to make money on gas so much as to lure on to the parking lot in hopes you will buy a Big Gulp or some other in store item where they make a huge profit margin. Same holds true for Wawa and Sheetz. Also, you are paying for the brand name
#1 I never buy Citgo gas....their oil comes from Venezuela.
#2 I mostly use Chevron, but willl use Shell, Conoco, Texaco, or Phillips. Texaco is part of Chevron and their pumps even say "with techron". These all are tier 1 fuels, and have low sulpher content and help reduce the problem of fuel gauges sticking. If you shop around, I can get Chevron or the others within a few cents of the off brands.
#3 Around here (Houston) they all are 10% enthanol. Hasnt hurt my mileage at all. Freeway .... 75 MPH...no AC...32-33 MPH....on regular!

Like the others, I work in the oil industry in California and I only buy tier 1 gasoline, you get what you pay for. I also don't want my money going to that dictator in Venezuela.

If I deviate from top tier fuel, within minutes of the fill up my gas gauge drops to "0" and alarms go off. Then it's a stop at a automotive shop and a bottle of Techron. Rather than spend 8 big on new fuel sensors, I spend the few extra cents on name brand fuel. The other thing is here in Tennessee it seems alomost all stations are selling for the same price. Shell Texaco, Amaco, or local quickie shop, all are the same price, $2.25.9 for reg. $ 2.35.9 mid grade, $2.54.9 premium today.
I was introduced to 10% ethinol here in Oklahoma this summer. A friend and I went the to the ATHS national convention at Hutchinson KS this summer and I drove the Vette. That was in June and I noticed the fuel mileage was only 26.3 mpg. I got to wondering what was going on with the car because it always got 28.5 or better on long highway trips. Then I noticed the "may contain up to 10% ethinol" signs on the pumps. Oklahoma started requiring the signs in late July. I started a thread about this back in August and got some responses similar to what has been posted here. A local news station did a story on the remaining "real" gas stations and posted a list on their web site. I have noticed a curious thing around here. There are more stations selling real gas now than back in August. Needless to say my mileage is back up to 28.5+ mpg again. The only advantage to ethinol is the argument that we are somehow more self sufficient in fuel production. Never mind the cost to distill the stuff is a dead wash when it comes to cost savings.

Would never use 7-11, they sell CITGO which is Hugo Chavez Venezuela crude who took over the oil industry there, is a dictator and has started building up military from Russia.
I primarily use Chevron. Texaco now has Techron additive too.
Don't want to HI-Jack,,but have a related question...Here in the Mid-West BP bought out Chevron!! The still have "Regular,Silver and Gold" designations,,,,but now advertise "Invigorate additive in all grades to keep your engine happy"! Does any one know if this is actually Techron or is it something different?? Like maybe the remaining Chevron outlets reserve the right to use the Techron name or something!!
