YUP, 335 Street tires. The track was extremely sticky from the world street nationals that were just run there two days earlier. People were pulling the best 60' times of their lives that night.

Ouch!

I bet if you had a sticky tire the drivetrain would have actually held up better from less wheel hop. Maybe i'm wrong but my $0.02

RPM can build you a wicked C6Z Diff and also a VERY stout tranny to support pretty much anything you can throw at it. Good luck!

What RPM did you launch at? I do run the LPE Hardened shaft and DTE brace and fell like my 99 stock rear and tranny are on borrowed time running 14lbs of boost

When mine blows off to RPM for the MN6 and DTE for the rear

Seen that before! Girl here in Houston with a wicked Silver Z06 did that out at Baytown one Friday night. Car was in gear but you could roll it around like it was in neutral. She broke a G-force micronited 300m mainshaft.

We used to say a similar thing when doing tournament water skiing:
"If you're not falling, you're not trying!" (but then again, it didn't cost much, other than loss of pride and perhaps a cracked rib or 2 )

Good luck with the fix and back on the track!

Don't scrap that damaged item that nothing else can fix! J-B WELD is an incredibly versatile product that can repair everything from damaged welds and solders to a precious heirloom. Save money, save time, and save your sanity for drastically less money than other forms of permanent repair.

Here is how my rebuild is going. Bought a press at harbor freight tools. I took everything apart today to get ready to assemble the new mainshaft. I'm waiting for my new clips and seals in the mail But after today I'm going to need a new tapered bearing (22) and race (11) as I pulled it off wrong. Numbers from the T-56 service manual.

All in a days work. Check out the old shaft and new.

Look familiar....thats how it starts

Bearing seperator pressing off 2nd gear and syncro

Pressing off 3rd with syncro

Later,
Max

I have a DTE brace and it saved my trans and diff cases. I don't have the Pfadt brace. It is an interesting product. Seems to distribute the load off of the small stock diff mount. I would like to see some testing to show that it indeed reduces wheel hop.
