Have a cop buddy that just bought a HHR SS....It's a great looking ride that SCREAMS....BUT, if it doesnt have a V8 I dont want it!!!

You live in Florida so season is not an issue with the car. If you got a nice C5 you don't want to drive except on special days just buy a used C5 and drive that. Probably 2/3 price of a new Cobalt or less.
I know there are other things to consider like more passengers, etc. But just for yourself the C5 is very difficult to beat as a DD. (Epiphany for some forum members I know

i have a Cobalt LS coupe for a DD. Not an SS, but its a great little car. i drive it rain or shine, snow, whatever. It gets 34mpg (not that much better than the vette) and i put 87 octane in it. Best of all i bought it this past january it was a leftover 2007 and i got it for $12k. Granted i got money off because my dad retired from GM, also there were year end rebates and 2007 rebates. The car originally stickered for around $15k.
If i were going to spend more money i would probably get a Trailblazer, but a new car for $12k you cant beat the Cobalt.

but i want a car that can take more than 1 person and good on gas...thats why im rulin out the ssr
so its between the HHR SS (love that) or the glorified Cavalier
