Default Windshield Replacement Help

Greetings,

I am going to have my windshield replaced due to a rock hitting it and leaving a nice little star fracture right in the center of my field of view.

Of course, I want it replaced with the original Z06 part number and also I want the upper seal piece replaced at the same time. Plus not to mention it has the Heads Up display (which I believe is a different part number than windshields without HUD).

What I am looking for is a shop familiar with the C5 Z06 in the Fremont CA area.

Hopefully, the shop won't object to me being there while they perform the repair, mainly because I want to verify the part number on the windshield and also to make sure they don't reuse the upper seal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do a search on DW1430..

What you want is to to use APTech DW1430 glass ONLY..the specs will come up as for the coupe ,ZO6 will come up as a DW1514.

They are exactly the same..this applies to ONLY APTech glass. There are lots of glass providers who make a DW1430 or DW1514.. the 1430 will run between 3 and 5 hundred the DW1514 between 9 and 13 hundred

I had my glass company bring both out and I compared them side by side...you want to compare the "Bug" that's the info in the lower passenger side corner..if they are the same take the 1430

I am going through another replacement right now. After fighting for months to stop the leaks after the last replacement I finally stopped going to the vendor and went back to State Farm. They chastised me a little for not letting them know about the problem before their one year guarantee ended but then said they would reopen the file. The adjuster came by the house and said the windshield was a bad piece of glass (probably a second), had been installed wrong and agreed with me based on the info in some of these threads that it was also the wrong windshield.

The new vendor I chose is the one used by my dealer and although they usually buy PPG glass they ordered the windshield from GM using the VIN. It is due any day now and hopefully is the correct one.
