Whether or not you drive your 'Vette, do you take your car to car shows? How about to the race track? Do you do both? Maybe you neither show nor track your Corvette.
Since I bought my C5 last November I've had it in nine car shows and have been to the track twice. I acquired this car to truly get the Corvette experience. Someday I hope to take it to the drag strip or autocross. Anyway, I suspect the numbers of enthusiasts who have done both shown and tracked their cars will be small.
The premise doesn't exactly line up with my goals. Our cars are all performance enhanced with reliabilty as top priority and we do show all our cars to a lesser degree now days and our goal there is not to be flashy but to enhance and improve the aesthetics of the great FRC body style and compliment engine and interiors.
Went from daily driver big block C3s to a driver/show C3 to a driver/show C4. Shows were judged shows not the piddly participant choice shows popular now. Picked up many first place trophies & cash and several best of shows with even more cash. Then I tracked the C4 which slowly evolved to a driver/track car. Both C5s have been driver/track cars. Now, I don't even attend shows as a spectator as I find them boring. I truly believe though that if somebody wants to put their car on display and brag about its potential they should be driving it and experiencing its true performance capability. IE., if it doesn't go they shouldn't show it. Don't be a poser.

Limited shows and no track yet, with the vert and no roll bar I may not be able to run at sanctioned strips/tracks. Look forward to a few runs in the future though
I put my car in shows - not so much because I think it's worthy of a car show but to show support for the local corvette clue and also to give a little $$$ to the organization that they are giving to with the proceeds from the show. :thumbs Plus, spending a few hows looking at cars and the other "attractions" that they bring is always a good day!
