[Z06] Garage modification / ZO6
It has been a while since I have posted. After 9 months of trying to purchase due to a "short sale", my wife and I just moved into our new house. My favorite room is the 3.5 car garage. My old garage was a 2car, with a checkered floor. This is surely a good home for the Z...
I basically have a blank slate to build from.... I installed a vacumn and here is my "to do / wish" list...
1) hanging cabnits along back wall (I have Craftsman cabnits, but not yet installed)
2) ceramic tile on the floor. I had a product from mid america, but the white tiles turned yellow, so I would rather do it right and go with a high quality ceramic.
3) 4 post lift, Thinking from greg smith... Propark...
4) wash sink
5) air compressor retracting hose from ceiling...
6) TV to watch powerblock on weekends...
I am looking for suggestions, so please let me know if you have any... Few pic's from last weekend...

All cleaned up...........

In addition to what you've already mentioned, maybe more electrical 110/220v outlets (or surge strips), move the lawn/garden/bicycles away from the car(s), stereo system, paint the walls, tin signs/banners, work bench with specific lighting, large vice, small refrigerator, more tools, etc.
Do a search or search this forum in C5 General or C5 Tech (in the red banner) for past threads about members "garages" or "shops". Use those for keywords.
There's some really nice setups...

On my latest one I put ceramic tile from the floor up about 36", that way I don't mess up the drywall when I hose it out.
Put everything on wheels (carts, racks, toolboxes) so you can empty it out to clean it.
Don't skimp on the lighting.
Big rolling tool box is great
A cart to move around and put thinks on
I dont like small stools on wheels or the little under car dollies on wheels. You start to wrench on something and you slide.
a simple piece of card board for laying on the floor is great
a few buckets. One for clean oil dry and other for dirty oil dry. metal bucket for oilly rags

My brother has a greg smith 4 post lift. It's great. Instructions for putting it together sucks. And it's heavy.
The big thing to be concerned with is making sure you have the space to put in the lift. I can't tell how high your ceilings are from pics. Need to factor in that your doors lower your available height. Take some very accurate measurements.
Good luck with your project!

If I was doing it again, I'd go 1 shade darker on the floor (gray, instead of light gray) and I'd go flakeless. The liquatile is so sweet looking all by itself...

whatever you use, do your homework on prep, application process, color selection, etc...

I am waiting on documented as it is suppose to be the only 930 red on red in 1985. (may be holing my breath for documentation). The car was originally made and built in Europe to European standards.
The car was modified from the original HP to what it is today. It has apx 400 rwhp. It has the Euro stance (lower than the US models) and has all of the goodies the US cars did not come with. I.E. - Fuel Head, posi trac, etc. Has custom headers and borla exhaust. The car is lighter than US Spec models as well by a few hundred pounds. (just under 2700) Has Yellowbird front and rear bumpers...
The car basically is conglomeration of components that the original owner wanted when the car was built from Porsche. Then the owner had a Ruf tech (not Ruf itself) modifiy the car with Ruf components. The intercooler is Andial, and has an Andial fuel enrichment setup for on-boost. Custom cams, euro fuel head, After Market Cold Air Intake with K&N filter. The brakes are Ferodo and are the "floating setup". Also Fikse Rims.
All in all, it is faster then the Z from a roll, but not off the line. I also don't like to beat on it often, because I don't want to pay 15K to fix something... Has 34K miles on it.
