I installed the self sticking decal (not dipped in water) to my hood liner and it is fine. I removed the liner brushed it, then vacumn a fresh coat of black paint. Then applied the vinyl C5 logo. mine is actually 4 pieces. I had my son help on the main part, the flags. We layed the hood liner on the tail gate of his truck and carfully applied the flags. Once they were on, I was able to apply the three sections of the rings.
