I got a handful of dead tire pressure sensors for my 1999 corvette.
I've been rebuilding them. The first was a success. However, the second one refuses to pair to the BCM / receiver.
The first and second sensors are different part numbers. However, they are defiantly the pre-2001 style. So I'm wondering if you have to have a special part number that is compatible with your BCM? If so does anybody know which ones work with which BCM(s)?
The one that doesn't work is a GM0402716.
The manufacturer is Schrader-Bridgeport. They only list one of the part numbers but manufacture both of them.
I don't know of any differences between the sensors other than the 97-2000 won't work on 2001-2004 and visa versa. You probably nicked the circuit trace for the positive lead or the circuit board itself is bad. I have run across several bad ones in my time, not just a battery, you just have to throw them out and take the loss.

Out of 200+ sensors I have rebuilt I have had to throw away about 25 of them (). Thing that I have noticed it some sensors when taken apart have had their battery leak on them cause they are so old and short the battery out which in return shorts the sensor out. Thats why I only like to buy/rebuild working sensors.
I do know of 2 different part numbers but they are the same sensor. I am pretty sure this was due to the fact that GM had these sensors built at different factories.
