I am embarrassed
Was rummaging around in my closet and found a tin of good ole
Saddle Soap. Took same out into the garage and applied to my
seats.
HFS
I could not believe what came off the leather. After
years of chemicals and leather "cleaners", to see what the old
traditional cleaner brought out was scarry.
Now I need to get more..................
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ONE AND ALL WAVEON

You use it to clean the horse's sweat off the leather saddles. It is fantastic for conditioning the leather.
You can get it at sany saddlery or livestock shop.

Saddle soap works wonders on the leather.

Just be careful. Saddle soap tends to be alkaline which actually damages fine leathers. Saddles get abused, thrown around, dirt and dusty... our seats don't get quite that type of abuse.

I shower with it. It leaves me feeling soft and supple, and it makes the wrinkles go away.

What you think is dirt might be some of the leather dye. And just about any shoe store will have saddle soap...

Wally world, K Marche, or any grocery store probably carries it with shoe care products.

I wonder which is better? Mink oil or saddle soap? (I have both, I use mink oil on my shoes, and the wife uses the saddle soap on the horse stuff)..

Exactly. This is why it should work fine on our seats.

Plus make sure you apply good quality conditioner afterwards. I'd recommend Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner. Very fine products. Makes your leather smell like leather.

When I was a kid (many, many years ago), I'd clean my baseball glove with saddle soap and then put neatsfoot oil on it.
