1 or two tops
i am buying a 2002 coupe. it has the glass roof panel. i have been told that this model corvette came from the factory with a painted top and that the glass top was optional. i cant seem to find anything on the net that shows all the standard and optional features for this year model. i was wondering if anyone knows about this. if the glass top was optional then the car should have both tops. if it doesnt then i can use this to get the price down even more. its a 02 red coupe, black and tan int, the good rims with only 30000 miles. they want 22700 for it. is that a good price?

I paid just a bit more than they are asking 2 years ago with 16,000 miles from a dealer for mine.

thank you for the info. is there any website that i can type the vin # in and find which top it came with? how could some one find which top was on it when it was purchased? if i could find out that it came with the painted top and the original buyer purchased the second top i could use it to get the price lower. i am having trouble finding new painted tops for this car. all i can find is new glass tops which go for around $1000. i found used painted tops on ebay for $500 but they will have to be painted red to match the car. the cost of paint and labor should make getting a painted top cost close to $1000. i hope i can use this to my advantage.

Any GM dealer's service dept. can run your VIN for a list of the factory options it came with.
$22700 seems like a decent price for a low milage 2002 coupe.

I just bought an 02 coupe with 9,000 1 owner miles for $25,500. Low 20's sounds about right if it's nice. Mine came with the glass roof only and that is specified on the window sticker. You could get them with 1 or the other or both tops.
