A friend put some on his 99 coupe. Louder than hell!! He does car sound systems so he insulated the bejesus out of the cargo area. His wife complained about it shooting flames out the back so he put some resonators in, still REALLY loud.
I have ARH headers, HF Random Cats, and straight pipe with a tune on a 99 Vert. It's loud but when you stomp it it's sick. Not legal decibal wise I'm sure. Just crazy Indy car Nascar LOUD!!! I'll keep it this way for awhile until I go partially deaf, then I'll muffle it with an STS TT.
Oh...PS...straight pipe doesn't sound like any other catback exhaust...don't do it if it's a street car.
Made my own and installed them on a bone stock 2001 a few years back. A little louder at idle than most aftermarket systems. Then crazy loud at full throttle. I still have them if your interested.
They sound OK,,,but not that great with stock system!! It's still kind of higher pitched. My friend has headers, high flow cats, X pipe and stingers, and the sound has a much deeper idle,,ans really howls on the gas!! I think it sounds better than my stocker when I run straights!!

That's hilarious, I just put a set of strait pipes on mine (er, tried) and i've ordered the STS spiral baffles as well in case they get out of hand...
