Hiya all,
I was hoping that it would be much longer before I asked for help on this subject, but alas the dreaded has happened.....Happy Frickin' Holidays!
Anyway, the ding is more of a "rub" or "brush" where the other vehicle's door hit mine. There does not appear to be paint removed from my car, but it looks like paint has been deposited by the other door.
I am hoping that I can buff it out with my Flex buffer, but I am strictly and amateur and have very little confidence in undertaking a major "paint project."
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated (other than park further away). Please no smart a$$ remarks.
I would not buff your paint with the other paint still on there. I would try to get the other paint off first so your buffer does not pick it up and scratch your paint.
Turtle wax makes a product in a green can called "clear coat polishing compound". I would try a little of that on a soft, damp cloth and rub it gently. See what happens..You won't hurt anything as long as you're gentle. I'll bet it comes right off as long as the paint isn't scratched/burnt.
