I plan on keeping my 00 Vert for a long time (my first)...just wondering how re-painting factors in down the road...should I decide to sell...does original paint with minor flaws hold more value than a re-paint?

I would take pictures before paint to show there was no damage to car before repainting. I had little chips in my door where the person before me hit it on something numerous times. I kinda worried it might hurt me if i ever sell it, but the paint matches good so dont know. I wish i took pics of mine to show that it had not been wrecked or anything.

Depends on the quality of the paint job, if it is crappy, then yes it will bring your price down, if it is high quality your price goes up.
Both my C5 and C6 have been repainted for minor fender benders and teh body shop could not get a good match on the replaced parts, so they repainted the cars.
This is a shop I would trust with my life and the work is beyond stunning.
While some will argue any repaint is a drop in value, I don't buy that for a second, IF the work is high quality. My C6 was around $10k(Safeway paid for it), and the C5 was around $6K.
Put either one of my cars next to the same model and mine will go first at a higher price. I have never seen street cars with paint this good.
Here is my C5, you tell me

A high quality paint job should make a good selling point as long as it wasn't body work from a collision.

Value depends on age, rarity, condition, and demand, of original equipment.
Generally collectors are not interested in Modifications of any kind.

That said, any car that has been retrofitted can be valuable to many buyers, it depends what is popular at that time, its sort of a gamble.

Something to consider.
What do you think an 00 vert is worth now, and what do you think it will be worth in ten years?
The answers are not much, and even less.
Don't worry about it.

My wife's 01 is Speedway white, which has a little different pearl shading than the Arctic white (makes it as little harder to match/blend).
This last Spring I took it to my body guy to have the front end and rocker panels touched up (chips, etc), and have some scuffs rubbed out. The factory paint was so crappy that the work he did looked so much better than the rest of it that it stood out like a sore thumb. I ended up having him repaint the whole car, and it looks soooooo much better...smooth and glossy with no orange peel.
Go for it.
