Where do you attach your removable GPS unit?
I have no desire to modify the dash for in dash nav, but I do use a Magellan portable unit on long trips in my other vehicle. For the C5 where is the best place to locate the GPS nav? I have no problem using Velcro to mount it, but maybe there is a better way.
I use a KUDA mount for the wife's Garmin Nuvi. Works great. The ball mount was a little loose after a year so I emailed the company about it the other day and the guy called me at home to discuss the problem then immediately sent me a replacement piece free. They are expensive but work well and the service is excellent.
Before that I used the suction mount to attach it to the little plastic window display on the headunit. That acually worked really well except you can't see the display to work the sound system.

Mine sits loose on the console between the shifter and ash tray. It also has text to speach which means it announces the street name so you rarely need to look at it.
I use the black lid from a spray paint can to attach the suction mount to. I place the lid in the cup holder, works great.
I do the same. The rubber removable insert in the cup holder gives it just enough grip that it only moves occasionally under the most violent acceleration.
I also plug mine into the aux. port in the arm rest compartment and feed just the amount of cable needed to reach the cup holder.

I just used the suction cup mount and placed it on the lower portion of the driver's side windshield - then just ran the cord to the cig lighter recepticle.
I have a proclip and have it mounted just where the console/radio bezel starts to go down along the side of the radio - It's out of the way, never have had a problem with reception there and the boss can access it while we are driving
The paint top idea sounds interesting, never thought of that! Here in Oregon the windshield mount is OK, but I actually got stopped and warned in California, I guess they have a law against mounting anything to the windshield.
