For those of you who don't know (I'm sure everyone does???)- this is Johnny O'Connel (GT1 Corvette Racing C6R Pratt Miller driver) in his DD.
I cannot for the life of me tell what this is. It seems it is right in his line of view and it is in every pic, so I know it ain't no optical illusion. It looks like a radar detector but... I don't know.
They have models that can give G-forces all kind of 0-to-what ever you want,,60 ft. time 1/4 mile et/mph and on and on. Probably doing an impromptu road test of some sort.

I think I have heard them referred to as Accelerometers. Speed measuring devices. They can be programmed to record tmes/speeds for varying distances at varying tracks.
