My original 60 month 100,000 mile GMPP is set to expire next year. my 2004 'vert purchased new, now has has 33,000 miles on it and never any problems or issues. only routine oil changes. I can buy an additional GMPP warranty. Does anyone think this is worth the expense or should I just save my $$ ? I plan on keeping and enjoying the ride.

If it is within you finances I would get it without a doubt. You never know.

I have a 2002 bought new along with GMPP 7 year, forget the miles but did not care it is a garage queen just over 10,000 miles today. I just extended three more years and 24,000 miles. Hard to imagine a car with a factory plan for 10 years. Don't forget Fitchner Chevrolet for the best deals.

with Bill K. If you can get a good price and can spare the cash, get the extention. It doesn't take much to add up to what you pay for an extended warranty.
As you can see, my 2001 had virtually no problems for about the first 7 years, then last year at about 34,000 it hit and in the past year they have done about $16,000 in warranty repairs under GMPP including a new engine a few weeks ago. No brainer...
My 3 year 36K miles GMPP plan expires next month. My car is a 2000 with just under 53K miles on it now. Any ideas on what I would expect to pay if I re-newed it? I was thinking of just letting it expire, but now I'm second guessing myself. I put maybe about 4500 - 5000 miles a year it ... and that may be a on the high side.
thanks for the feedback. I think it is cheap insurance so I will re-up for at least another 36 months or so....Fitchner sold me the original and has quoted the new policy.

You never said what the extension costs, why not let us in on it.

I think you did the right thing
You just know that if you don't extend it, you'll have a problem within a few weeks

I bought mine from Dennis also, haven't used it yet but it's a good feeling to know if something goes wrong it's covered until Oct 2011.
I bought mine from Dennis fichtner and am glad i did. It's a good deal and i think it will prove to be very useful. Fichtner is a great guy to do business with.
When I had the opportunity to buy an extension on my GMPP I wrestled with the idea because my car had been so reliable. At the last moment I decided to go ahead with buying it. Glad I did! I suddenly had a couple of issues come up that saved me a few thousand dollars over the price of the warranty. You never know! BTW, Jason Walter at Ross Downing Chevy in Hammond, LA is a great guy to deal with and will always beat Fitchner's prices on extended warranties by a considerable amount. Call him at 800-417-5162.
Yes get it! Thats about the mileage where my car suddenly decided it wanted $1400 worth of work over a 4 month period. My extended warranty was $1700 and I still have another year and a half before it expires so Im glad I got it.
