Since the auto executives cannot come up with a survival plan to share with the U.S. Congress, I am working on one for them. Here is the basis of my plan:
I suggest that we here on the Corvette Forum take over the Corvette operations from GM.
Since Congress wants the CEO of GM to resign, I vote to have Jay Leno take over as the new CEO. What better car guy to have running the show! I also think that Governor Arnold should take over the Hummer division. After all, he invented the civilian version of the Hummer for them. Jay and Arnold are buddies so they should get along great.
With the stock price nearly zero, and it will be zero if they declare bankruptcy, do you think we can all pull together and take-over the Corvette operation from GM?
What do you guys think of my plan? Are you with me?
I'm no financial expert but post bankruptcy I believe gives a company a chance to restructure and stabilizes the price of stock. If their plans are sound and seems to work post BK investors should look positive and the value will increase. As an example, Continental Airlines filed twice and they are currently at 16 per share post recent stock market crash.
I just hate to see a good car like Corvette dragged down by the other issues that GM has. I wish that Corvette could be a stand-alone car company. Better yet, a car company run by us.
