Vararam filter removal
I had a Vararam cold air induction system installed on my 2001 coupe about 6 months ago. I would like to check the filter to see if it needs cleaning. It looks like I have to remove everything from the rubber hold down straps up to the MAF to get to the filter. Is this correct?

I'd remove the accordion with the upper housing and filter. You may get a surprise when you look in there. Look closely for signs of sand and stuff that may be getting past the filter. I was informed beforehand but still freaked when I saw it in person. I siliconed my filter in place and nothing can ever get past the filter. Peace of mind is a good thing.
