The Z06 has been parked in an underground parking lot, driven two weeks ago.I have checked on the tires often and now one of the front tires on stock rims has lost excessive air. The outside temperature has been below freezing for the last week.I have not seen any nail or hear any air loss after putting air in till 40psi. Have not hit any potholes or curbs. Could the stock rims on a 2001 contract due to temperature ,enough to lose air pressure? Anyone experience this type of air loss?
The wheel shouldn't be any different than any other aluminum wheel. Look elswhere for a leak if you have one. You won't always be able to hear it or see it. If it keeps leaking, just take it to a tire shop. They will find the leak.
If the pressure drop was just due to the change in temperature, all the tires would still be the same relative pressure.
You have a leak somewhere. Did you check to see if the valve stem was leaking?
Do you have clip on or stick on weights? If you have clip on weights, I have seen tires leak around the weight where it was not fully seated in the rim.
Thanks for the input ,guys. Well,I found the problem! When I went for a rip about two weeks ago,I stopped at a tire shop and used their air hose with the pressure gauge attached and checked all my tires. Adjusted accordingly and when I undid one of the stemvalve caps the little o-ring (washer) fell out.So i put it back in and went on with my pressure check and cruz. Well, today filled the flat tire, soaped it up and NO leakage. Went back an hour later and took stem cap off and soaped it too and still no leakage.Put the cap back on tightly and "presto" heard the air faintly escaping. I did not replace the o-ring correctly when it fell out when I did my air check!! Close up vision not so hot hese days. Tire is OK now
