In my area (spring texas) , it's impossible to get that "slammed" look without scraping EVERYTHING in sight. Texas is Pickup-truck country.
I've been thinking it would be ossble to get a similar look with larger wheels but keeping the OEM ride height. This would in fact give me MORE ground clearance but make the car appear lower.
What is the Largest diamater wheel/tire combo that wil fit the OEM wheel wells?
There's a member who posted here in the last couple of days with 22's on the back. I've seen others post pics that size as well. Tires get very expensive at the 20" mark.
Actually increasing wheel height means you have to go with smaller sidewall tires in relation and will still give you the same wheel gap as before.

I think what he wants is to get larger wheels and possibly larger sidewalls, if required. So if a 20" + a 35 profile would fill up the gap, he would do it.
Idk about that my 20" rear tires go for about $150 ea which is WAY cheaper than my old 18" drag radials.
What brand/spec? I priced Y-rated 20's in different widths/profiles for the C5 and I found high-200's to over $500 in any brand I'd be willing to buy. That does exclude several lower-priced off brands and Z or lower speed rating. I will buy any of the top-tier brands like GY, Mich, Kumho, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop, Yokohama, Continental, and Falken but the speed and load ratings need to match my C5's capabilities.
Congrats if you're still meeting those criteria at $150. In fact, please send me your specs and vendor link or post it if it's a cf sponsor.
This car is a rolling oxymoron to me. Some parts look awesome and some make me want to vomit.
The nose, tail, fenders, and paint look great. The hood, interior (I remember it from the other post), and whatever the hell the 1 red spoke wheels are are just plain ugly. The one that gets me the most is the hood. The wheels and interior are personal preference which just doesn't happen to agree with mine. Everybody has different tastes and I can appreciate that. But with that hood, you have obviously spent a ton of time and money on this car and rather than buy a supercharger hood you just hack a god awful hole in the stock one. I don't get it at all.
I almost forgot the C6 emblem on the front and the headlights, but those have been discussed way too many times so I'll leave it alone for now.

Now, now, fellas. I posted those pics to show how nicely 22-inchers filled the wheel wells and still allowed you to drive the car code-less. Granted, the car is a collection of contradictions, idiosynchrasies and esoteric enigmas while, at the same time, it displays some expert craftsmanship and intense attention to detail. But, the point of the pics is to give the OP a look at various angles of a successful application of large-diameter wheels.
It's a custom car. Not everybody is going to like all facets of it, but over-all it shows a lot of creativity.
BTW, I love the headlights and it took me two years to find a set for my project car.
As for using these larger rims you gain some advantages and loose others.
- Yes you'll gain some road clearance
- You'll loose ride comfort and traction. Less sidewall (lower) means a harsher ride and less squating.
I have the same dilema myself as I don't want to be draging my widebody vette, but need traction. I also have "AH" (Active Handling) and need to stagger the tires.
There are not a lot of tire choices when you start getting over 19" that work well in larger widths.
My vette can hold 315's front and 345's in the rear, but trying to find the right stagger is difficult along with the right compounds for traction.
TireRack.com is a good place to check out tire combinations. If you're willing to give up some width you can get some 19' or 20's that might work.
Anything over 28" in total height will probably hit your inner fender wells. You'll also have to check for clearance at the front when turning as you may hit the inner front fender well.
