You're pulling our leg here, right? After thinking about this, I am confident that you are asking this to obtain answers that support what you already told your cousin.

The ONLY reason to consider the C4 over the C5 would be budgetary.

My advice, since they are both RED, is get them both!

I have a 94 and an 01. As everyone has stated the C5's are more refined and more powerful in everyway than the c4's. But, my heads/cam/4.10 C4 feels more like an old Hot Rod, and more times than not I end up driving the C4 on short trips.

But it depends on if that 72 year old has the cash to buy an 04 Corvette...

If your cousin can drive both cars, have him do so with the targa roof panels removed -- that will make up his mind in a hurry. My 1992 coupe sans targa panel was like piloting a lump of Jell-O. Horrendous cowl (and most everything else) shake.

ill just put it like this.. i went to the chevy dealer about 4 months ago and they let me barrow the 04 C5 A4 i was looking at for 72hours on there loaner program cause i told them i wasnt sure if i would be happy with it as a commute vehicle.. which is why im looking for at an low cost C5 right now for a commuter over my Current Audi TTQ. I have gone down town in the Audi and never got a compliment by a girl.. or been asked if they could get a ride.. but i take the vette down down 1 night with the tops off and i had i wanna say 4 girls that night ask if they could get a ride.. not even knowing me... then in the parking lot of the club i went to... there was 5 girls meeting up in the parking lot looking them selfs all over and every one of them walked over and started talking to me.. its like there is an magnetic attraction to an vette to cute women...

Having had several C4's including a 16K mile modified ZR1.... I have entered the C5 zone and added a 2003 Z06 with 3K on it a year ago. After driving the Z06 I just couldn't drive the C4 anymore. Don't get me wrong as I love the ZR1 like crazy but the C5 is a world class car with just too much to offer compared to the C4 and rightly so as it is so much newer with infinitly better technology. That being said the only way to really decide for yourself is to drive both but I have never heard of a single C5 owner ever say they wanted to go back to their C4. In fact I constantly hear of C6 drivers going back to a C5!

I like both but really love the C5 looks and style. 25K miles is not bad at all.

I like the C4s, but there is a world of difference between them and the C5. If price didn't matter, get the C5 hands down.

This question normally comes up between the decision of a C5 or C6

I owned a 96 CE with 300HP and traded it for a 98 that had 345HP, I can tell you the C5 is miles ahead of the C4, in every area, I never missed my 96, the C5 rode better, handled better, had more power, held more in the rear, was easier to get in/out of, just name an area and the C5 was better.
