Default 2004 vs. 1996

My cousin is looking at 2 corvettes that a friend is selling.

One is a 1996 Red Coupe. 17k miles automatic coupe. 300hp. LT1

The other 2004 Red Coupe. 25k miles automatic. 350hp.

Price not being a factor, which one would you buy?

Without a doubt the C5, The LS1 350HP is a great power plant and as far as ride and looks the C5 takes it again. Do a search, There are a ton of members that came to a C5 from a C4 and they all say the same thing... Best move ever.....

I have had 3 C4's and 6 C5's and there is no way that I would ever choose a C4 over a C5. The C5 is a much better built car with a superior structure to the C4 and the LS1 is a much more desireable and more powerful engine than an LT1. Plus the C5 is the best looking generation by far IMO.

Yes this is in the C5 section, but I think even the C4 guys would have to agree..........go with the 2004.

Price not an issue? That seems like a pretty strange scenario between those 2 cars.

Option 1: buy the C5. Way cooler! Better machine!
Option 2: buy both.

The C5 is better in every way, shape, and form except for one.... exhaust note.

Having owned both I would definetely go with the C5 - they are two worlds apart and the C5 being way out in front all the way around!

There is no doubt the C4's are nice but the C5 is so much more superior especially when it comes to tuning the LS1 motors and when you put on any extra parts they respond so much better!

I tell you the LS series motors are the best and he would be better suited to the C5!

Hope this helps

Thanks,Matt

Unless the C4 is his dream Corvette generation, the C5 is the obvious choice - but the same way some people lust after a C2 or C3, there is nothing wrong with the C4.

As pointed out, in this climate of ultra low prices, have him buy both

Both would be my choice if price was not a issue. I've owned both and due to a unfortunate accident I now have a C5. The C5 is a much better car all the way around. I do love the c4's and will always be a place in my heart for them, But if i had to pick one it would be the C5.

If price is truly not a object, buy both

If not, the C5 is the better buy
