Having cruised the forums and not getting all the information I think I need, can any members give me the definitive answer on what I need to order or if anyone has any used, the GM parts required to convert to the Euro C5 headlights? I think that I would like to stay with halogen, but I don't know. I guess PIAA 135/90watt bulbs. Can anyone give me part numbers, etc to do this conversion? Or any other options that are relative bolt in?
You will want the complete high wattage kit, if you want to go that way. I had this setup and sold the whole thing on the forum in the parts section for $250 complete with light housings, high wattage harness and all relays, bulbs and instructions. I sold my euro setup and bought the ACA HID lights. They are a lot better and if you are buying the euro lights new they will cost you about the same as the ACA setup
You need T84 headlights which should come with H4 bulbs. The plug and play harness is supposedly only needed for the high wattage 135/95 bulbs but it makes the fit easier.
I also got mine from PFYC.com
The beam shaping is way better with the Euros for driving on two way roads. HIDs will give you more light but is similar to the stock lights in the way it floods the road.

I have these lamps. They are made by Cibie, who, along with Hella, are the two leading producers of high perf lighting products in Europe (BTW I'm not a rep). The assemblies are indeed all glass and heavier that the DOT approved items that come on the US car. I'm about to convert to the higher wattage lighting so I'll probably get the high-watt harness from PFYC. The assemblies also have a "Europe Export Only" decal on them. I think they're fantastic and Cibie is great quality.

The T84 has an excellent pattern and with the 130W H4 bulbs significanly more output than the OEM setup. You'll need to install relays to get them to work properly.
I read a post on one of the lighting forums that the T84 lights don't respond well to HID kits. The cutoff is crap and the glare is horrible. There are several differnt types of H4 kits though including some with glare shields and i'm not sure what kind was tested.

Hope this helps.
I have bought Cibie, Hella, Bosch and other lamps and bulbs from Gunther for many many years....He is a reliable and honest supplier. He offered the lowest price I could find on the T-84 lamps, even lower than my local Chevy dealer, even at the special price they give Mount Hood Corvettes club members, as the primary sponsor of the club..and we DO get a good discount there, too low to mention in public. Gunther gets his T-84s directly from Europe where they are made, rather than through GM distribution that has many layer of profit taking and shipping costs added before it even gets to whatever dealer you buy from....
