Can you install a 12 Disc CD Changer in the rear of a 2002 Z06? Does anyone know if there is a factory installed wiring harness already in the rear of the Z06?
Yes, it can be installed in a Z06. Many have done it, including me.
No, there is no harness in a Z06. The harness is sometimes difficult to locate. You probably will need to find an after market source as GM no longer has it unless you get extremely lucky.
Try search in C5 Tech, using "cd changer installation" or similar keywords.
It gets asked and debated a bunch (IPOD vs CD crowd)...
I've done four (4) 12 disc CD changer install on FRC and Z06, both Pioneer and Delco.
You will need verticle brackets and I use PIE Inc. (Precision Interface Electronics, Inc) cable. COR-HAR 7-07751-80173-2
They have a website www.pie.net
Cost was about $60
You will need to access the passenger side kick panel/ floor board area to find the two connector , (1) 3 point female and (1) 4 point male connector [IMG][/IMG]
Your GM service manual will tell you how to route the harness and where to place the changer's brackets.
