Default Corvette Racing

Does anyone know what is going to happen to the Corvette racing team? I finally bought a newer Corvette and had hoped to travel to a race or two this year. I have also read that Corvette intended to enter in two different classes. GT1 and GT2 what would be the difference between the two Corvettes?

Corvette Racing should be doing the GT1 class for Sebring, Long Beach and the 24 hour of Le Mans.

after Le Mans 24 hour they will be switching to the new GT2 car. Smaller engine.

http://www.badboyvettes.com/ will have more info

The GT1 and GT2 team cars will look real close to each other. The GT2 will have a smaller rear wing, 67" wide vs 72" for GT1, a shorter front splitter, and not quite as large of fender flairs.

The big differnce is the engine and power out put, The GT1 car has the 7 liter, 590 BHP 640 LbFt monster the GT2 car will have a smaller engine, not sure what size but about 425-440 BHP

for 2009 I dont think it is a 5.5 liter but my "wide guess" here is a modified LS2 TYPE engine.
size. putting out around 425 BHP

For year 2010 and latter the GT2 engines may have to be no more then 5 liters, a 302 ci or there abouts. Have to re read the rules.

Not sure how many races the team will do after July 2009. Dont think it is the remainder the season.
