It's alright. Like I said, the guy changed his attitude, and I'm okay with the dealership now. It's not on my list of "NEVER GO TO" dealers. There's a local one in town though.

Yup, times out there do suck and many are on edge. There is a reason you didn't get this Vette. A better one will come along.

Have you tried autotrader.com? Great resource for finding Vettes in your area.

Good luck!

I COMPLETELY understand..

What I was trying to say, is when life bites you in the azz, you tend to tke it out on people who dont deserve it..

(not towards the original poster)
For all those guys who treat car salesman llike garbage..Thats just PATHETIC. Its easy for keyboard warriors to talk horribly about a salesperson on the internet, yet im my MANY years in the business, i've never met one person brave enough to insult my family to my face. Maybe the next time you think about insulting a guy and his family, maybe you should imagine someone speaking to your father, or son that way. Alot of salesman are god following good men, who are doing their job. Just like you bankers, lawyers, managing partners, business owners, etc etc etc..

off the soapbox now..

For example, I noticed on threads like "my wheels got stolen" a lot of people suggest getting a gun. I disagree. Just because someone stole your stuff, you try to shoot them, that's just wrong.

It's not other people's fault when your life has problems. Our lives have problems too. I never once was rude to him. The way I see it is, if I offer X, you offer Y, and if we can make a deal, then good. If we can't, walk away with a smile, don't get all a-hole about it.

But in all honesty, thats the problem right now..

Everyone is complaining about the economy, yet No-One is willing to pay to allow the economy to grow. Everyone is expecting 30,40,50, 60% off. Then they complain when the company goes out of business cause it can no longer afford to operate at a loss.

Why do you think the housing market came to a screeching halt (at least one of the reasons). Even when the houses were available for sale, the buyers ALWAYS felt there was a better deal around the corner. So they drovetheir agent around for days upon days upon days...

Its a proven fact that economists are saying 2009 will be one of the worst fiscal years in US history for businesses. Why?? Cause businesses are closing doors left and right. Mainly because the customers are now demanding you to loose money in order to make a sale.

I watched a guy on the news last week say, "If its not AT LEAST 70% off, I wont buy it". That just plain ignorant. Cause he'll be paying the difference in the form of additional taxesl later down the road..

What exactly does this have to do with the original thread??

You're right about some people with ridiculous prices in mind.

I'm not one of those buyers though. I simply follow the law of demand. Clearly, demand has dropped, so has prices, if someone can't keep up with the market, then they won't sell, period.

If there are 2 McDonalds in your town, and you want to get some food there to lunch; however, they charge 2 different prices, which one would you go to?

I'm just paying what the market is asking. If a seller wants to get more money than the market average, then he can keep waiting for some sucker (or simply, wealthy people). A good example is whenever a new excotic car (or something like that) comes out, people pay way over MSRP on it. Again, supply and demand... There's nothing to blame for any party. One is willing to sell, one is willing to buy.

But yeah, I see what you're saying, business is tough. But hey, I'm doing my part on spending. I bought a computer, a TV, and a GPS this black friday.

Besides, people's hard earned money should be spent however they wish. No one can criticize that right. This is a capitalist economy, after all. When times are good, do businesses ever do discounts to help consumers who are not in good shape?

Anyway, this is not related to the original thread, I'll save my econ 101 for later. I'm satisfied now.
