Got a problem with the Vert that I can't figure out. I need to see if anyone has any suggestion of what to try before I take it to be looked at.
When I turn the lights on, (either parking, or low beams) the lights pop up, but they do not come on. (The ambers and fogs come on, but not the headlights), but the lights will come on if I turn the high beams on.
When I turn the lights off, they stay up and will not close unless I turn on the high beams. If I turn off the high beams when the lights are half closed, they will stop in whatever position they are in (even if it is half closed)
It almost seems like when the high beams are off, the switch is not working, except for the fact that the parking lights and fog lights are working like they are supposed to.
Now even more baffling is that if I turn off the lights and don't turn on the brights for the lights to close, it will beep at me like I have left the lights on.
I have not done the obvious yet and checked the bulbs, but I find it hard to believe that both bulbs that I replaced at the same time less then two years ago have both burned out at the same time...nor do I think that just a burnt out bulb would cause the lights not to close.

That is the same trouble I had when I installed my HID lights, It sounds that maybe both of your bulbs went out, I know hard to believe. Check your connections on your lows at the bulb. If you don't have enough amp draw the lights will not close in low mode.
If you have 2 burnt out bulbs it will cause what you are talking about. I believe.

Well, looks like they are going to be changed anyways. Took my car to get an inspection, and my mechanic call out sick, so some of the little things that usually get overlooked were not.
Apparently the new bulbs I used were not VA legal so they will not pass and I have to change them.
If you have a volt meter you can do some trouble shooting yourself:
1) find the low beam headlight fuse in the underhood fusebox. remove it and check the fuse. Then use the the voltmeter to check if you're getting any power to the fuse.
if you're getting power to the fuse proceed to step 2, if not you're power to the fuse, odds are your headlight switch is busted. (the low beam part can bust by itself)
2) you can build your own relay setup that taps off the low beam headlight fuse and then run your own output to the headlights. this will also facilitate the use of high wattage bulbs.

let us konw how it turns out.
I broke the windshield in my trying to change my wipers, and destroyed a seat changing a MAF in my C4 several years ago...I have been banned from doing any major work on my car...GM has a restraining order against me saying I can't get near a GM car with tools.
Something that draws a current, even a small one, I am liable to electrocute myself.
there's no actual "work involved" you're just removing a fuse and testing it manually. If push comes to shove, I can build a relay harness for you with step-by step install instructions.
