Finally got my Corbeaus installed today. Fit like a glove. Passenger side is mounted on a non-adjustable bracket. Driver side on a bracket with sliders. Haven't had an opportunity to test drive the Vette with the seats yet...hopefully tomorrow (can't wait)
In terms of weight, the Corbeaus including brackets weigh 32 pounds less than the stock seats with brackets. Here's some quick pics I took after the install. Will have to make some nicer photos out in the open once the sun comes back All in all, I'm very happy with the result!
They sell them in black cloth or black vinyl as well. I really like the red with the blue body colour. The brake calipers will be painted red this spring as well, which will continue the colour theme
My A4's in leather get delivered today. Did you use the brackets from Corbeau? I've got a set coming but would love to find a way to keep the power stuff.
Thanks for the great comments everyone! Hey WKMCD, I did not use the brackets from Corbeau...I have a welder and therefore welded my own...I didn't want to use the stock power seat brackets, because they weren't low enough for me and I didn't want to modify them, since I want to keep my stock seats (just in case)...making the brackets took a long time...you have to take real exact measurments and do lots of test fitting to get them just right. Anyways, they are a big improvment compared to the "old" seats and feel very sturdy. Cheers, Indy.
I already had the seat belt assembly taken appart...wanted to put the belt through the side harness slot...but no space...so I put everything back together.
They work just fine, just like on the stock seats. I am thinking of putting in a harness bar and a 4 or 5 point harness down the road.
