Default Lowering question

I've read plenty of threads about lowering on stock bolts but have not been able to find a specific answer to the following question:

Is it possible (without breaking/damaging something) to adjust the lowering bolts with the suspension fully loaded ?. I ask because I have a 4-post hoist in my garage and can access the bolts from underneath while the car is on the ramps. Thought I might save some time by avoiding the use of jack stands and unloading the suspension.

Thoughts ?

Thanks,
db

NO. You must get the weight off the suspension to make adjustments.

I adjusted mine without taking the load off- you just have to use some elbow grease. Id recommend taking the load off though- much easier.

The issue that many experience is the rubber bushing being vulcanized to the control arm and/or the threaded portion of the bolt is rusted within the insert of the spring.
If you attempt to make adjustments w/o taking the load off, you're more than likely to do damage and/or split a gut.
Spray the threaded portion of the adjustment bolt with PB BLASTER in the little trough on top of the spring. Once it wicks down and is visible on the threads below the spring, you'll know it's completely lubricated. Spray the rubber bushing with PB BLASTER and use a metal putty knife to work it free from the control arm.
Once both are well lubricated, you should be able to make the desired adjustments w/o the need for the 10mm wrench. Mine were loose enough to adjust with my fingers.
BTW, I did mine on my four post lift with a jack bridge/bottle jack and tripod jack to raise the front end.
