Default Z06 windshield

I'm replacing my windshield due to small imperfections. it's the original Z06(4.8mm)windshield. if it comes out in one piece(it should), any interest? Do not want to ship due to obvious reasons.

What kind of imperfections? What year Z?

I have a small spider crack in mine due to a rock I picked up on the interstate the day I bought my car.

I'm in Jacksonville with work till the 23rd

Why would you not just have it repaired? The rock chips I had fixed you can't even see.

I had 2 bullseyes fixed for $60 with a lifetime warranty. Can only see a tiny little spot after repair. Sure beats the $700 quote I got from Safelite for a new windshield.

It has very small scratches(2) and some rock chips that you can only see when the light hits it just right. The windshield is still in the car for inspection(waiting on new one to arrive).

Ahhh, I don't think they will get your windshield out in one piece!
I had one replaced on my Cobra, this summer. (It was just cracked)
Guy, installed plastic sheeting on my dash, and protected my hood with big matts. Removed moldings. Then Punched a hole in the corner of the glass with a tool. Used a Wire Saw to CUT the windshield Glass into two pieces. Then Removed the moldings and scraped the old adhesive and remaining smaller pieces of glass. I pretty sure this is how it will be done for corvettes too..

My windshield guy said it'll come out in one piece. If not, oh well. He also said he would install it for you for $150.00

Since you have the one that shows the 4.8mm thickness you may want to keep it. I just had my windshield replaced for the second time and original windshield is no longer available through GM's parts departmnts. The windshield they provide is the correct thickness but the part number is different and the 4.8mm thickness isn't printed in the corner anymore. I spent several months working this out with GM and State Farm before the windshield was ordered.

Just an update for the naysayers out there. Windhsield came out in one piece, and there is a brand new one in it's place that is stamped 4.8mm. Windshield is sold.

i had mine replaced that had a crack start from the upper passenger side go all the way down to at an angle to almost right in front of my eyes and the glass guy got it out in one piece super easy. watched him do it not because i'm **** but because he actually was a neat guy to talk to. was the guy they glass company sent out for specialty cars, asked him what other one's he was doing and needless to say mine was the crappiest of the bunch lol!!!
