I went to start my car after sitting for 3 weeks and the battery was dead, So I charged the battery and now my CD player wont work. I have the 12 cd changer in the rear, I tried pulling the CD pack out and re-installing the pack, no luck !
I dont know if I'm in need for replacement YET. It all worked fine when the car was parked last. I remember when I put the charger on, The cd changer sounded like it was trying to load a cd and now radio plays but cant change over to cd???
Don't get in a huge hurry to change that CD player out!!!
I thought mine was bad for several months but after reading several posts, I figured out a poor battery was the fault. Seems the CD player is very sensitive to electrical issues and is the first thing to screw up when you have a battery in poor condition! Mine worked well enough to start the car always but it was weak enough the CD player just didn't work. Replaced the battery and the CD player works like a charm. I now use a battery tender all the time... the car sits ALOT so it works well to keep her maintained and ready to go.

Try a new battery FIRST!!!
Are you serious?! I just bought my first corvette (used 2000 Hatchback) and I have had a few problems (Random TC and ABS warning that goes away after restarting engine, memory seats and column not working, and CD player not working). I was thinking the battery might be going because it has been sitting for a while and the interior voltgage reads around 11volts when not running but I also read the cd players tend to go easily, so I replaced the cd player. Did I just possibly waste a lot of money?
When you replace the battery or charge it from a near total loss in power, you will need to let the CD Changer find all the CD's again. You should start the car, then eject and reinstall the CD and let it do its thing till it locates all the CD's. Beyond that, something else has happened to it.

11 volts is low... what does the battery show if you put a voltmeter on it?? It should read 12.5+. That is a real issue if less than 12 volts!
Still have your old CD player?
I'd be willing to bet the cost of a new battery (standard, not RED TOP!!) that your issues will go away with a brand new, great condition battery. LOTS of electrical issues have been solved when a new battery goes in!! Sorry to give you the bad/good news but it's worth a try!! Also- get a maintainer for the battery if you won't be driving much. It's a low cost item that pays for itself over and over!!
(1) unplug the CD player cable and plug it back in. This seems to work when my MP3 player doesn't work after disconnecting the battery, and
or
(2) trash the CD player and get an iPOD2CAR or AUX2CAR using the CD cable fed into the new module (~$100). Then, you have thousands of songs at your fingertips without having to change CDs all the time. Works GREAT.
