Yep, I predict your gonna lose.
1/4 mile is all about average speed with 4.10's he's gonna reach top speed quicker then you.

I think you'll get him. Sounds to me like this isn't a LS1 based car (lt4). I think you'll be more even than you think with your car.

the other funny thing is that he hasnt had his car tuned. so the speedo shows a rediculous speed at 70 mph.

Might be closer than you think if he does not have DR the 4:10 can make it real easy to spin your tires. If he can't hook up good you should take him or it will be real close if he beats you.
I know I have them in 01 M-6 and with mid 400s at the wheels I can spin the tires real easy with my street tires on in third going 50 mph so keep that in mind.

I ran into a similar firebird at the drag strip this year. My C5 has the same mods as your (3500 SY stall, 3.42s and full exhaust). He got me off the line (I spun my tires a little) but I was able to chase him down.

We have both a C5 and a WS6 and the WS6 will get me at the 1/4 track everytime. But the WS6 can't touch me on a nice road course.

Followed my buddy on a cruise. LS1, 4.10's, exhaust and a tune, in a TA. We took off and I had to be careful not to run over him...

I'm gonna say it's gonna be determined by the driver... it'll be close either way.

You have the hp and weight advantage. He on the other hand has a solid live axle and get off the line easier. Driver is going to play a big factor in it.

An LS1 does not have a power advantage over an LT4. The LT4 was an underrated engine. You, however, do have a weight advantage. But with those 4.10 gears and automatic, especially if he has had a tune to optimize shifting, I believe you'll be able to study his rearend.
