the firebird is an auto with 4.10 gears, full exhaust lt4 conversion and some other small things done. the vette is mine with yanks ss3600 3.42and vararam. anyone have predictions for the outcome. 1/4 mile, i know he wont have much speed at top with 4.10 gears
Might be closer than you think if he does not have DR the 4:10 can make it real easy to spin your tires. If he can't hook up good you should take him or it will be real close if he beats you.
I know I have them in 01 M-6 and with mid 400s at the wheels I can spin the tires real easy with my street tires on in third going 50 mph so keep that in mind.
I ran into a similar firebird at the drag strip this year. My C5 has the same mods as your (3500 SY stall, 3.42s and full exhaust). He got me off the line (I spun my tires a little) but I was able to chase him down.
You have the hp and weight advantage. He on the other hand has a solid live axle and get off the line easier. Driver is going to play a big factor in it.

An LS1 does not have a power advantage over an LT4. The LT4 was an underrated engine. You, however, do have a weight advantage. But with those 4.10 gears and automatic, especially if he has had a tune to optimize shifting, I believe you'll be able to study his rearend.
