One yellow 02 with 13500 listed at 27000 on a dealer lot. I know the mileage is low for an 02 but i still think the price is high. What would be the "magic" number that you guys would jump at or aim to get at when speaking to the dealer? Any help would be huge. Like this guy -- Im all ears. Thanks.
Well, I just purchased my 03 EB w/ 13K on the clock a couple of months ago for $25.3K. I made the guy come up $1000 on my trade in, so call it $24.3K. I felt like that was an outstanding deal. It was a true FL car, also.
Of course, yellow is always more expensive than blue.
I'm in Los Angeles and I just bought a 1 private owner '04 Z06 with 36,000 miles for $21k cash. Deals are out there, just have a little patience and search a lot of websites, found mine on cars.com. He wanted $26k and after a few days of negotiation I ended up getting it. Good luck in your search.
Depends on the condition of the car. I would run Carfax and GM service history and look the car over very carefully. If no accidents or problems 27000 is a little high but if they would take 25000 that would be an okay deal. Again, look at everything about the car before making an offer.
I thought it was high, the 04 for 21 is a steal, that was a very good deal, I need one like that.
An '04 for $21k is a steal, until you learn more.
Kind of like my '02 for $13k. (again, until you learn more)
Pull a GM VIS, look at Carfax and AutoChek. Talk to people familiar with the car, if possible.
If the '02 with only 13500 miles is a true cream-puff, it's worth every bit of that money (if no tires, windshield chip, or other repairs are needed, and everything is in perfect working order, that is). If it needs anything, its value should be lower.
I'd offer $23,5. to a dealer... theyre gonna want to add their stupid prep and handling fees, so you'll prolly get out at around $25 with tax and everything.
In today's market, an 02 with the stated mileage in good condition without excessive mods should sell for between 23 - 21K. Some of the forum members responding paid too much for their Z's. There are too many Z's out there for sale - wait for a good deal and save big bucks!
Last year I bought an 03 Z it had 12,900 miles With basic mods intake and yellow coil and radiator covers for 25,000 and then put 10k into it but its what I wanted and Im happy... 1 7/8 long tubes, 3" x pipe, slp loudmouths, A&A kit p1sc procharger W/ meth spays @ 2lbs. Its way to much fun

Most important is check it thoroughly....as mentioned above run the checks, put on a lift to look for leaks, check for bolts that have been removed. If it's a GM dealer get a "Certified Used Car" for the warranty.
Tell um you'll pay $23 and if you get for $25....it's a good deal. The sucker isn't even broke in yet Good Luck
FWIW, picked up my '02 black Z with 14k easy miles (put on by a retired dentist who thought the car was broken because he couldn't ever get it in 2nd gear...dealer told him he actually had to use the gas pedal....) for $23,300 in early December.
Figure out what you want to pay and offer several K less than that number and see if they will negotiate. You could possibly be their only potential customer.
