Frank, The Extended Service version of Mobil 1 available in the U.S. does not meet GM4718M
I know most companies made different grades for the European market.
So your product may be different.

Frank, The following major brands meet GM 4718M

Formula Shell fully Synthetic
Pennzoil Platinum
Quaker State HorsePower
Castrol Syntec
Mobil 1

I've seen Mobil 1 and Castrol Magnatec (similar to Syntec) here in UK. I would think the Shell oil would be available although I've not checked. I'd use standard Mobil 1 5/30 if you can get it. I've heard the ESP does not meet the spec.

I would only use an oil that meets the GM specs for the engine - it should say it on the bottle.

Its hard to find oil that meets the standards in Europe guys

Trust me

I wish it was as easy (and cheap) as dropping in to Walmart or Pep Boys

I just checked the Castrol site and they say Castrol Magnatec 5/30 A1 for my car against its registration details

Its like DeeGee says, not so easy (and cheap) to find oil that meets
the standard here in Europe.
