Default Leather Repair Need help!

Today I notice a small tear on my driver side seat. It's not really a tear yet thank god. On one on the seams the sewing/stiching in ripping through the leather. Im glad I caught it when I did. But does anyone know of some type of adhesive to can put on the to prevent any further tearing?

Probably $100.00 repair at your local upholstery shop and he will replace the damaged panel and repair the padding.

I had the same problem on the stitching at the rear of the drivers side seat on the base.

I got a leather and vinyl repair kit from Walmart which did a reasonable job covering it up. Its similar to this:

Mind you, new seat skins would be great when I have the $$ and permission from the "Management"

Individual panels can be easily replaced. I had this done once a few years ago. The shop was even able to re-use the existing stitching holes on the adjacent good panel (a French seam) so that upon inspection you would be very hard pressed to even see that a panel had been replaced at all. Think I paid approx $130.00 and that included the shop removing my seat and re-installing after.

Had to have mine done. Paul at one of our local shops charged me $125 to fix the seam, rebuild the seat foam, and reassemble the cracked and loose bezel around the power seat controls. Looks great.

Go to your local dive shop or fly fishing shop and buy some "Aqua Seal". This is the glue used to glue wet suits. It is incredibly strong and stays flexible when dry. I have used it for this type of repair and it works great. Just put a piece of tape on foam under the tear. work a little glue through the tear on the back side of the leather and let it dry. Once dry the tape will work free of the foam and the repair is very strong and will not let go. The best of all is the glue cannot be seen. Good luck!
