Default After Deployment Dilemma!!!

Hey fellas I need your opinion. I am in the Nvay and going to Afghanistan for a year and when i get back i am either going to put the money i saved in my 02 EB coupe or possibly trading it in on a C6Z. I have studied various posts and I know that the quality, speed, and power are way superior. My question is, for you guys that had one for a while, do you miss the targa top? I know it seems like a silly thing to miss but thats the only thing that is hanging me up. I mean i love everything about the C6Z its just that top is killing me. Thanks again for your opinons and I hope to see you all at some cruise-ins when i return!!! Rich

I know I would miss the targa top also.

Where in Afghanistan are you going to be stationed?

I agree, the targa would be the one thing that would keep me out of a z....

Maybe I will see you there.

I love my targa, and I also plan on picking up a C6 Z eventually. Modifications are always possible. Rembember that.

Good Luck

Consider a C6 coupe, put the money saved for mods. The best of both worlds, unless you need the status of the Z.

Yeah but the Z looks alot better to me. But after buying all the body panels, engine mods and brake kit for a reg C6 I bet it comes out to the same price of a Z or even more because you pickup a used C6Z for under 50k now.

I could easily sacrifice the luxury of a removable top if it meant I could drive a C6Z, but that's just me.

Keep your head down.

If I had a C6 ZO6, I don't think I'd miss the targa.

Gary can cut it off for you.

I know he would like nothing more than to carve up another Z

Just send it down to the Vette Barn for awhile

Peace

IMO, if you are looking for pure performance, go with the C6Z. Personally, I am partial to my vert. I love the open feeling while cruising with the top down. My car is not a DD, it's a weekend warrier. It also does not see much action during the New England winters.

Thank you for serving your country. Be safe on deployment, watch your 6.

As i recall reading in C6 general, its relatively unsafe to chop the roof of the C6Z. That car needs the roof for the chassis to remain stiff. Without it it becomes a flexible flyer.

I would miss my targa, but after driving my dads 08 Z I could get used to a hard top. But I do love my C5 coupe!

Thank You for help keeping us free!

There is a local guy and a member on here who cut his C6 Z up and reinforced the frame and put in a targa. Looks very nice
