Hello fellow vette ethusiasts. Hoing you can shed some light on a question I have.
I own a 2009 Coupe Blade Silver 3LT w/NPP, mag. sel. ride, chrome wheels, and dual color seats manual transmission (only 500 miles). The MSRP was $58,150. I got it for about $50K back in September.
Now that the 08 Z06's have 0% financing, I was thinking of trading up.
As usual two questions must be considered. What is a fair price for an untitled 2008 2LZ? I'm seeing discounts for $10-$13K off stcker. This is about the same deal you can get off an 09Z! Of course you don't get th 0% interest. Still the 2008's will still soon be 2 years old and still sitting on the showroomm floor. I would think you could get one of these in the VERY low $60's. Am I way off base on this? I've been to 3 dealerships and was offered the same price on the 08's as the 09's and was told it was a great deal at 0% interest.
I would appreciate any opinions from you seasoned veterans on ths.
Lastly, based on my vette description above, what do you feel would be a fair trade in value.
Thanks everyone, I love this forum!

Are you sure you would want to make this trade? The Z06 will be noiser, harsher, less forgiving, rougher riding, and marginally faster. It would be perfect for the track, but a complete waste on the street. I have owned both, and prefer a stock C6 for overall street driving. I won't comment on the financial part, but getting into a 2008 now doesn't usually pay off, as the 2010 models will be here shortly, but you would have to do a detailed analysis. If you didn't have a trade, then buying a 0% car would be pretty smart.
The 0% is only good if you plan on keeping the car for 5 years, plan on financing a large amount or if you never pay things off early. If one can qualify for 0% then most should be able to get 3.9% to 4.9% for 60 to 72 months at most dealers or credit unions (more towards the credit union route).
However have any of the dealers offered you over $42,000 for your 09 to trade back in, againest the give away prices of the Z's your looking at.
I did see a 2008 Z06 advertised for $17,000 off list when the red tag sales were on, but since the dealers are no longer getting that incentive, you may have a hard time getting a dealer to give you the same deal now.
Also, with new car prices down, so are used car prices, so you will likely take a beating trying to sell an '09 so soon.
