Over sized tire question
I am planning on putting 255/40ZR17's and 285/35ZR18's on a 2004 convertible. Rims are original GM thin spokes. Tires are Goodyear GS-D3.
Am I going to have any issues?

Should be fine, I have seen people on cf that have 255's on the front, and I personally have 295's on the back of mine.

A local member had Z06 sizes on his thin spokes with no issues....

I have had 265/295s on Y2Ks no problem. Right now I have 285/35/18 on a 9.5" wide rim and 295/40/18 on a 10.5 wide rim.

Just try to make sure that they are not more than a 1/2" TALLER OR SHORTER THAN THE ORIGINAL STOCK TIRES!
If they are and you get codes you will need to have the PCM programmed for the correct tire height
Thanks,Matt
