Default I bought a 2001 C5 . . .

. . . and now I have more questions. But first, let me share my first impressions. Like, WOW, what a car! Power seats, power telescoping wheel so I could get in the perfect driving position, and those lumbar/lateral support, how so very nice. Mirrors all adjusted, seatbelt on, push the shifter button and pull into D and I'm off.

The HUD is awesome! True, polarized sunglasses hamper the view and when the sun is overhead or directly behind, like in the 5pm sun we have here in MA, it goes out, but otherwise, that HUD is the *****.

Now, the engine and how it drives, WOW, you guys all know and I wonder what sick f**ks you all are that have Z06's and even more power, are you mad? That 350-HP is all I'll be needing and boy is it all there. Here is the good part and a question for you, it has a K&N Filter tucked behind the front facia along with a nice smooth intake tube and other wires and tubes, THEN, it has a Borla Cat-Back exhaust. What might this do for me? More HP of course, but is the Borla CB-exhaust much louder than stock? I'm sure I could get used to it as there was a decent rumble when going about 35 in the 1100-1300 range but was not at all obtrusive at any other RPM or when on the highway but I wonder.

Other than that, my deposit is down, just need to sign the loan papers and pick it up sometime either this Friday or on Monday, boy, I'm psyched as you can tell. 32,520 miles or thereabouts. The car has Falken tires on it and are very new, other than that, I can't think of anything else, but how are these tires?

Well Ben, I believe you've made a great decision. Had my '99 since birth and she now has 125k on the clock. Issues, I've had a few but fewer that my last Honda and boy the . The Borlas are a personal taste type of thing, had those and went to Z06 after about 6 months. Daily driver and it was just to much. Enjoy the ride.

Congrats on the purchase!! The Borla exhaust is louder or in my opinion has a deeper growl. From the reading I have seen where it really give you a lot more Hp (maybe 5 could be wrong but I'm sure others will correct me) but it sounds really good. I don't have the HUD I have a friend who does and I don't feel like I am missing out. As far as the 350 yes it nice but the mod bug will soon bite you. I have already purchased some rims and an LS6 intake manifold. Hopefully I will be getting some Kooks headers and potentially some 3.15's from some of the forum members. Anyways congrats once again, show some pics and remember to wave!!!

Thanks, after less than 1/2 mile, I knew I had to have it.

In general, is the Borla Cat-Back system much louder than stock or just a little?

Congrats on the new car. I just bought my first, a '99 coupe with 28K miles. It also came with a Borla catback. Not sure what model - you can definitely hear it but it is not obnoxious - think it may be the touring model. Their sound will vary according to what model you get. They are loader then stock, though. I'm more then happy with the power too. Mine has the Z51 suspension and that along with the 3:15 gears, makes for some spirited driving.

Post pic's after purchase. Borla makes a few different models that vary greatly in loudness. I also like the HUD and Falken tires are relatively inexpensive compared to many other options out there. I had a set on a different car and thought they were just OK, not bad for the $$ spent. Enjoy!

Congrats.. and be careful not to catch the "mod" bug...because once you do it never stops... and the car only gets better

The Faulkens are good tires! I have a set in waiting, my wheels came wrapped in Nittos, when they are gone the Faulkens go on! You are just getting started loving your new Vette!

I brought my good camera but forgot that I brought it so I took this cell-cam shot while it was in front of the dealer this evening. Once I have it I will take lots-o-pics.

Yes, the exhaust was not too bad, nice and quiet at idle and not too racous when underway, but boy oh boy, when I got into the throttle, it sure moved. Here is the pic I took with the camera;

I'm in Methuen, Peabody is not too far. I bought the car at Veracka Motors in Brockton.

At least the Falken's have great tread on them and one can just barely see the tread in the pic.

My buddy who has a 1994/C4, had seen the 2002 6-Speed on the showroom floor with 8,000 miles on it and might be buying it and trading his C4 for it. He took a drive in mine and besides knowing it had the Borla system in the back, thought it had something else and sure enough, the K&N was in the front under the hood.

Good deal, I use to work in Methuen. I actually went to that dealership just last month when I went looking at the C6 they have there. I ended up winning a C5 on ebay for a ridiculous price. Best of luck with the vette though. I'm sure I'll see you around the roads, we'll have to go on a ride this summer.

The Borla on the back has 4-tips.

I wonder, is it easy to change the oil on the car?, that is, do I need ramps, or a lift, or a pit?

Higher wattage bulbs are the quickest way to boost night-vision, correct?

Imkindafd-That C6 sold this past weekend, what a nice 05 in Torch/Black that car was/is. I would love to meet up someday. I'm only beginning the reading on here, but did just start with the "pinned" topic at the top of the list, incredible site this sure is.
