Well, not really major, but a problem. 2 days ago, I ran over a plastic bag doing 60 on the freeway. Right as I ran over it, I looked back and knew it didn't come out.
When I got to house and came to a stop, the whole car smells like plastic. I drove the car again today on the highway about 10 miles to the store, and it was worse. I drove back home 10 miles and it still smells horrible when you stop.
I have looked under the car, and can't find it. I popped the hood, and still nothing. The car is cooling fine and oil temps are fine. No smoke from anywhere around the car.
My problem is, I'm out of town at my river houst the closest lift is about 15 miles away. Should I be worried about a fire? What wires or possible damage could occur? Thanks.

or look deep under the front bumper into the intake/radiator and check there.. you never know, i have found all kinds of crap under there (shop rags/leaves/cat pieces) LOL
It probably contacted the exhaust as it went under the car, the portion that touched melts to the exhaust/cat and stinks for a week or two- I've had it happen. If it was in front of the radiator your water temp would climb, I've had that one happen too.

Doubt you'll have a fire, but until it burns off it will drive you crazy with the smell. If you can get the car in the air and find where it contacted the exhaust, you can try and remove most of the bag.
Prolly on the H pipe.
Buddy went over a skunk this summer and it got wedged in his X Pipe. He spent twenty buck at the carwash trying to get rid of the smell.

This is really good advice for everyone. When I had my Vararam installed, there was a sh!tload of stuff packed in there.

I def agree with it most likely burning on the exhaust... its just kind of an eye opener when you see all the crap stuck in the front for the first time... its an area easily forgotten and overlooked, which can lead to overheats and whatnot... Best of luck!!!
I drive through the ghetto often and most of those folks don't use garbage containers so the streets are always full of trash. One of my first mods was a radiator screen, I haven't had anything stuck into the intake since doing it.....I recommend it. Now I need protection from the plastic bottle full of used cooking oil I ran over last week.......
