Replacing BCM -- anyone have to replace one on a '99 because of a problem with the dreaded "Pull Key, Wait 10 Seconds" message? If so, what are the drawbacks to doing such?
Have you installed a CLB yet??With just that warning, you may very well be jumping the gun big time(and big money too)!! Before you do any thing drastic,,, P.M. Bill Curlee ( I think that's how you spell his name)He uses his name as his forum name! He is one of the main electrical gurus here!! Just the info you provided it sounds like you are overreacting!! I used to get that a lot,, Then eventually that followed by the service column lock with the accompanying 2 mph fuel cut off. Mine had 2 factory recalls before I bought it. A CLB took care of it completely. I got my CLB for $13 delivered,,,a heck of a lot less than a BCM!! Check it out first!!!

Thanks for the replies. I do have the clb; did check the fuses. My mechanic says the BCM is the last piece of the puzzle. You all have been very helpful. The big problem: we've had a few rare "cloudless" days here and the vert is still laid up.

Do you still have the GM installed recall harness? That will do it. It's not always obvious, mine was wired up along the column and zip tied in place. If your CLB is plugged into a connector with a white and purple wire, then you have the GM harness somewhere...
