Is there any benefit in relocating the MAF sensor? Both the Callaway and the new VaraRam Powerduct move the MAF back..

If so why doesn't Halltech do it on both their models (Stinger and Venom), they only move it on the 01-04 Models.

I'm going to buy something to help my Vert breathe better, and no i'm not going VaraRam as I don't track my car etc. etc....nothing againist them. I also don't see spending the money for the Callaway for the same reason i'm not getting a VaraRam...

My initial thoughts were a Blackwing with a VaraRam Powerduct

Thoughts? Opinions?

If you are simply looking for increased air flow without the "ram-air" effect, then one of the best is the Blackwing.

The benefits as I see them are:

1. Better accuracy of intake air characteristics: The closer the air flow sensor is to the intake, the more accurate the flow readings should be.

2. The MAF sensor wire is less likely to get coated with oil from the air filter, since the MAF would now be further away.

If you DO buy a warm air intake system like the Blackwing or Halltech, you should consider either opeing up the fog light panels (+ add Z06 screens) or scoop in cold air from underneath the filter (as I did with my Halltech). Both methods not only prevent the ECU from chopping off power when the intake air temps rise (due to slow-moving conditions that contribute to engine bay heat soak), but also keep the engine bay much cooler - a real benefit for the longevity of belts, hoses, and computer components.
